This was the takeaway message I got from Malia Russell's talk on the topic of homeschooling a difficult child. She was a preview speaker for the TOS Expo I mentioned in the previous post. What I like the most about this message is that it applies to all of our relationships, not just the difficult child. Imagine if everyone applied this all the time how much better we would all feel.
STOP
Stop trash talking to/about your kids.
Truth - speak only the absolute truth from God's word.
Overhaul your mind to a new way of thinking and acting.
Philippians 4:8 Test "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." (emphasis added)
