We're listening to Slugs & Bugs Sing the Bible Family Christmas. It was the first Christmas album I allowed this year because I was so excited when it finally arrived. I was on the Kickstarter this summer and I could not wait to get all my fantastic music! One copy of Sing the Bible, one copy of Sing the Bible vol2, two Sing the Bible vol3, and two Family Christmas. Since I already own the first volume, thanks to a blog giveaway just like this one, I will be sharing three of these albums with YOU, my readers. Check out the trailers below.
Today's giveaway is for a copy of Sing the Bible Family Christmas. I haven't done a #5things post in a while, so I'm going to do that and tell you five things about Family Christmas.
- Randall Goodgame and Andrew Peterson are the brainiacs behind Slugs & Bugs, with the first CD released in 2007. Now, it's a family affair and all the Goodgames are involved.
- Most Sing the Bible songs are *word for word* from scripture, using various Bible versions depending on singability (or the Slugs & Bugs MSV - most singable version).
- Family Christmas intentionally has that A Charlie Brown Christmas feel, ala Vince Guaraldi, and also a Peanuts inspired cover.
- Moms (and maybe Dads) will love the music as much as the kids. Seriously.
- I think my favorite of the 12 tracks is Mary's Song, sweetly sung by Livi Goodgame and using the ESV of Luke 1:46-49.

ReplyDeleteWe love Slugs and Bugs at our house! Have been loyal fans since their first album! (Probably listened to Tractor, Tractor about 18 million times!) I love the Sing the Bible albums. My kids think the Aloen song is hilarious!

ReplyDeleteWe have been loyal fans of Slugs and Bugs since their first album! The combination of solly songs with scriptural truths is a hit with our family! When they were little all of my kids loved the Tractor, Tractor song. Now they like the Alien song from the Sing the Bible CD because they think it’s hilarious (and who doesn’t love Sally Loyd Jones as an alien?!). But what makes me happy is when I hear my kids singing scripture while they are playing or doing something else. Thats awesome! Thanks Slugs and Bugs!

ReplyDeleteI found it interesting that inspiration for the music came from Peanuts. I've always loved that style and that Christmas special. (We practically have the whole thing memeorized!)
ReplyDeleteSlugs & Bugs has been a family favorite for awhile! I was delighted to see on their facebook page that Randall Goodgame does some facebook live concerts. I will be checking that out with my 2 year old!

ReplyDeleteWe first got hooked with the Slugs and Bugs Under Where? album. My 2 year old LOVES listening to all of their songs, and asks for them by name. I love that they use the Apostles'Creed as their statement of faith.

ReplyDeletewe Love slugs and bugs! We were able to hear Randall Goodgame and Andrew Peterson speak at the ERLC conference this past summer and we knew we had to check out their music after that. The music is very catchy and I find myself singing their songs throughout the day.

ReplyDeleteI have never heard of Slugs and bugs before. I would be listening to it with my 4 younger children, probably in the van as that is when we do most of our CD listening (I feel like I am filling out a VIF right now, LOL)
